JPA Scholarship Interview

I know most of you can't wait to ask about my experience in JPA scholarship interview. Although i'm lazy to tell the same story over and over again, so i decided to write here and share with all of you.

Ya i was called for the interview on Tuesday(12April) . I received my letter on last Friday, so must go to certified all my documents on yesterday, Monday. I was a little bit unlucky that i was selected for the first day because i have less time to prepare for the interview. Anyway it is good that i don't need to be nervous or worry for few days longer haha :D

I applied for overseas scholarship and chose pharmacy as my course. My interview was at 11.05am, i have to reach there half and hour earlier for registration. So my dad drove me there. There are 2 UITM campuses in Shah Alam, one is in seksyen 17 while the other one is located near I-City. At first we went for the wrong one, luckily we got to reach the right one which is seksyen 17 on time. I wore a formal blouse which looked like an office lady, while some of them wore baju kurung. I tied my hair neatly and clip all my "dropping" hairs up ahaha. Although it looked ugly la, but who care's?? xD We have to looked smart, first impression is always very important.

First of all i checked my attendance on the name list and which panel to go. Then i proceed to panel 11, first floor. I submitted my clear folder and the photocopies to the person in-charge, then she gave me a number tag which was number 2. I get to know all my teammates there. 5 person in a group: a Chinese girl named Esther, a Malay Girl named Farhana and an Indian boy name Shatu. Another malay boy was absent, so there is only 4 of us. All of us are applying either pharmacy, medics or dentistry. We had a short chat before going in for the interview. Ohya i met my primary classmate, Heng Jie Hui there.

It was the time for my interview session. We went into the air-conditioned room and be arranged to sit in a row. There are 3 judges. First of all we were asked to introduce ourself in English. (As i know that previously they were interview in BM for introduction). Anyway i think i speak better in English than BM la haha. Then the next session, the judges asked us to discuss about a topic, we sit in a group, just discuss and the judges will listen behind of us. The topic given was : "in future, gene mutation and destroy all the diseases like cough, flu, fever and so on, do you think that we still need doctors??" So we had to discuss this topic in BM. I hear that the one who lead or start the topic will give the judges good impression, unfortunately im not the one ><. I used to be the last one to talk, i hold the risk that i cant share my points if one of them shared the point. Anyway im glad that i had time to think about my points, where i did not speak out straight away.

After that was the current issue session. They asked : What do you think government should do to improve the medical industry in Malaysia in order to realize 2020 vision?? We need to answer in BM. For this i just tried my best to give out my opinion, i used to plan my points before i say. Honestly i was very nervous shivering, but i just pretending calm and smile :)

The last question before we leave : "Apakah nilai yang patut ada dalam diri seseorang doktor??" She asked four values, so each of us answer one. That's all for my interview. We thanked the judges and they asked us to PRAY HARD, lol...

Their question are very random. I think i gave my best and no regrets(should be). For those who are going for the interview soon, all the best and good luck.
